Year 4 - University of Manchester

Welcome to Year 4 - University of Manchester Class. The Class Teacher is Mrs Lilha and the teaching assistant is Mrs Vasile.

Important
Our Indoor PE day is on Friday, and this half term we will be doing Gymnastics. You may wear plimsolls for Indoor PE as well as your normal kit!
Our outdoor PE day is on Tuesday, and this half term we will be doing Football. You may wear trainers for outdoor PE as well as your normal kit!

Homework will be given on Wednesday, and this will be due in on the following Monday.

Autumn term learning
In English, we will be looking at the text ‘Charlotte’s Web’ by E.B. White. It tells the story of a livestock pig named Wilbur and his friendship with a barn spider named Charlotte.

In Maths, children will learn about Place value and different operations like addition, subtraction etc. The Times table will be our top priority, and weekly tests will be conducted.

Our Humanities will focus on the changes in the lives of children and will compare and contrast between Tudor, Victorian and Modern times.

In Science, we will be looking at ‘Classifying Living Things and ‘States of Matter’. We will be doing experiments to understand evaporation, melting, and condensation.

In computing, Children will learn about online safety and coding.

School trip: PGL on 13th and 14th of October 2025
